If you don’t already have a Gmail account, here’s reason enough to get one: you can call any US number, and talk as long as you want, for free. The calls are crystal clear, too. I don’t know why this service is delivered through Gmail rather than Google Voice, but that hasn’t inconvenienced me at all. My Google Voice number forwards to my Skype number, so I can receive calls that way and dial out via Gmail —- that’s free calling and free receiving and saving one heck of a lot of air time so I can lower the AT&T Wireless hours.
